Firm History
Ron L. Findley founded The Findley Law Office in 1988, after having worked for several large law firms who represented big insurance companies.
Ron decided to focus his legal career, not on representing rich insurance companies, but rather on helping real people; common people, like the people he grew up with in St. Joseph; like the people he played baseball with in Lion’s League Boy’s Baseball, like the people with whom he went to Lafayette High School, like the people he worked with at summer jobs at Mead Products, Brown Transfer & Storage, and Affiliated Foods to name a few; like the real people of St. Joseph and Northwest Missouri who work hard and love their families, and who often have no hope of getting fair treatment from large insurance companies without caring and compassionate help.
Ron was an Honor Student in College and Law School, and was the Associate Editor of his Law Review. During his career, Ron has gathered numerous honors and awards, including the Missouri Bar’s Commitment to the Profession and Public Good Award and, most recently, Ron was given the highest rating possible when he was designated as an “AV PREEMINENT LAWYER” by MARTINDALE-HUBBELL.
Ron has represented clients not just in Missouri, but also in matters adjudicated in Kansas, Texas, California, Mississippi, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, and the Netherlands.
In his commitment to assisting regular people, Ron founded The St. Joseph Chapter of the Missouri Call-A-Lawyer Program in 1993, an annual program designed to provide free legal advice and answers to regular people with legal questions or problems.
Ron is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, St. Joseph Bar Association, and has been certified by all seven Judges of the Fifth Judicial Circuit as a Mediator under Missouri Supreme Court Rule 17.
